Six years ago, I looked like the two photos you see on the left. I weighed 210 lbs! As a singer, how I look and—especially—my cardiovascular endurance are very important. So I started a first diet at Healthy Weight Clinic; I lost close to 30 lbs and then I gave up. However, my eating habits had changed and I lost a few pounds more, and that weight had not come back.
Then, three years later, I added intense physical activity to my lifestyle, when I bought myself an elliptical machine. I’m not the bravest soul when it comes to exercise, so it took a lot of effort for me. To “reward” myself, I ate more. The outcome: I maintained my weight despite all my efforts.
I was always finding excuses not to finish losing the weight I wanted to, and I couldn’t see what was still bad about my relationship with food. Even though I had changed several things, it wasn’t enough to lose the weight, only maintain it.
A month-and-a-half ago, I finally decided to lose those last 23 lbs (when you’ve already lost 40, the only thing missing is your own WILL!!). The clinic’s diet helped control my hunger and helped me see I don’t need to eat my emotions to be happy. I eat healthy, and I like it! I’ve kept my exercise regimen, but now I do it twice a week and I feel in top shape.
So, you, yes, YOU, with all the excuses: stop! Find your MOTIVATION! I’m the living proof that, YES, IT WORKS! I feel good about myself, and at the time of writing this, I only have 4 lbs to go before I reach my goal!
I hope I’ve given you some encouragement. Don’t give up! Or, begin! Loving yourself and having self-confidence are worth every effort in the world, believe me!
